starseeds : a musical

Loosely based on actual events. Hurricane Katrina is approaching New Orleans destined to destroy it. Our story begins in a psychiatric hospital, where these resident patients will be left to die in the flood. With nowhere to go and no evacuation plan in place, the head doctor proposes an unconventional escape plan for a select group of patients.

In a world where survival becomes performance, what happens next when everything you’ve known is suddenly gone? What do you hold on to, and what do you let go? Starseeds asks how far we can go to remake ourselves and what we lose in the process.

Starseeds was selected for the Spring 2025 slate of the Rider Student Theatre Company and premiered in February with future productions being planned.
